MAKE CINDY'S DEATH STAND FOR SOMETHING

Syracuse And Central New York Animal Awareness
Center Home Site: SACNYAACHS

On a snowy night in downtown Syracuse New York, a young man out riding his bike found a kitten who had been set on fire. Placing her in a snowbank and using his jacket to extinguish the flames, he quickly called the Erie Blvd Animal ER, where an on duty technician called the police. It was February 4, 1998.

The police brought the kitten, later named "Cindy" to the ER, where she was placed in immediate 24 intensive hour care. Little Cindy, only about 4-5 months old, suffered skin burns to much of her body and lost most of her fur. In spite of her serious burns, her condition was upgraded and she was expected to live.

There were many offers to adopt little Cindy and she was making progress, her condition was upgraded to 'serious' and she was responding well to treatment. Sadly, on February 10, 1998 , Cindy did not make it thu the night and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her death was officially attributed to general organ failure due to toxins from the burns.

You can read about the tragic death of this little kitten at the website set up for her updates that ended too soon, and the happy ending that never came.
